Description

The Philippine Nurses Association of New Jersey Somerset County Subchapter (PNANJ Somerset) along with Junior Chamber International New Jersey (JCI New Jersey) is holding its second Somerstrong 5K. And this time, we are adding a 10K along with leisure walk. It is open to the public who want to join the costume contest at 12pm. It is a safe, fun, and healthy way to celebrate Halloween and promote healthy living. There will be dancing, booths, music, light refreshments, instagrammable Halloween decorations and more. Your involvement is instrumental in advancing our mission to empower young civic leaders, nurses and our communities.  Both organizations are committed to serving the community, empowering nurses and young leaders.  A portion of the proceeds will support Camp Jaycee, a residential summer camp for adults with intellectual disabilities. www.campjaycee.org

About Philippine Nurses Association of New Jersey Somerset County Subchapter

For over 20 years, the Philippine Nurses Association of New Jersey Somerset County Subchapter (PNANJ Somerset) has been empowering nurses, Somerset County & globally. PNANJ Somerset donated over $40,000 towards vital programs. These initiatives provided crucial relief during calamities and offered empowerment  to battered women, at-risk youth, homeless, unemployed, uninsured, and other vulnerable populations. Additionally, we have extended a helping hand to nurses facing disability, illness, unemployment or dealing with the challenges of illness or loss.  Furthermore, at the subchapter level, we've proudly granted $4,000 in scholarships to deserving nursing students. Volunteerism lies at the core of PNANJ Somerset. We have dedicated over 2,000 hours to community service, impacting the lives of more than 20,000 individuals.

Throughout the years, our support has extended to numerous noteworthy organizations, including but not limited to Samaritan Homeless Interim Program (SHIP), Raritan Valley Habitat For Humanity, Zarepath Health Center, Visions & Pathways, Casa Shaw, United Way of Hunterdon, Alternatives, Inc., Dire Church, Project P.E.A.R.L.S., Maui Relief, Taal Volcano Relief, Somerset County Food Bank, Franklin Food Bank, Raritan Food Pantry, PNANJ Foundation, PNAA Foundation, & many more.
